“Foot Massage is a type of massage that specifically targets the feet. Foot massage is utilized as a method for treating ailments, promoting relaxation, and alleviating pain. Most of the body’s meridians are concentrated in the soles of the feet. When you massage the soles and calf muscles, the muscles gradually become more relaxed, aiding the body in detoxifying more effectively. Effective detoxification contributes to healthier skin, ultimately enhancing your overall physical well-being.
MASSAGE AREAS The tips of the toes reflect the head. The heart and chest area are around the ball of the foot. The liver, spleen, and kidneys are located within the arch of the foot. The lower back and intestines are connected to the heel.
Note: Instances when foot massage should be avoided: after a fever; with blood clotting disorders or chronic illnesses; having open wounds or injuries on the feet.
BENEFITS OF FOOT MASSAGE
According to acupuncture experts, applying pressure to reflex points also helps balance the nervous system and stimulates the release of endorphins, aiding in pain reduction and stress relief. Foot massage also offers the following benefits:
Boosts immunity and combats diseases. Extends youthfulness and lifespan. Promotes comfort and relaxation. Addresses insomnia. Enhances blood circulation. Supports detoxification and weight loss. Nourishes kidney and vital energy.
FOOT MASSAGE SERVICE PROCEDURE
Step 1: You will receive a dry massage of your head, shoulders, neck, back, and arms by the therapist. This promotes relaxation and facilitates drifting into sleep.
Step 2: The therapist will cup your feet in their hands. Starting with the thumb, they will gently and slowly massage from the top of the toe downward, then glide back up along the back of the foot and proceed to the shin area. They will then return to the toes.
Step 3: Subsequently, focus will shift to the soles of the feet. The therapist will use their thumb to create continuous circular motions, moving upwards and downwards as well as sideways. Next, while one hand holds the back of the ankle, the other hand will use moderate palm pressure to glide from the top to the bottom of the foot. For areas experiencing more pressure due to body weight (especially the heel), the therapist may use firm finger pressure to soften the area.
Step 4: For customers opting for sessions lasting 90 minutes or more, you will be asked to lie face down. The therapist will then apply pressure and massage your back to conclude the massage.
